Not many divers brave the waters of Tomales Bay or Bodega Bay to the north. The bottom is sandy, the water is brown and the notable wildlife great and white. Tomales Bay is a known breeding ground for Great White Sharks and, while it is noted with accuracy and science that most sharks don't seem to mind humans let alone show interest in attacking them, this author thinks it's probably prudent to leave this bay for the oysters given the abundance of surfers at Dillon Beach who have been bumped by juvenile GWS. Halibut divers have had some luck doing tidal drift dives along the bottom so if that's your jam it could work out.
