Fort Wetherill
Fort Wetherill is well loved for its granite bluffs and rich history and it's much the same below the surface. Those who venture below will find that the stunning topography continues below.
There are several places to get in the water around the park:
Right Cove is an easy entry with a boat launch that can get busy at times.
Left Cove is a bit more challenging if the surface has some chop.
Deep Dive accesses the steep cliffs along the end of the peninsula.

Attractions & Wildlife
Visibility is usually around 10 to 15 feet on the tide but that's plenty to see some great wildlife. In addition to the usual locals like lobster, torpedo rays and bass you might catch some southern visitors coming up on the Gulf Stream towards the end of the summer and fall.
Entry & Access
There is a boat ramp entrance and two shallow beach entries that are all conveniently close to parking lots.
Amenities
Parking is free but sometimes limited on busy weekends. There are portable restroom facilities. There are some racks for doffing and donning gear.
Skill Level & Hazards
Like much of New England diving, conditions are variable and change greatly with the weather. The water is very deep close to shore and it's not difficult to approach 90 feet. Farther out, currents can be somewhat strong. Fishermen are frequently out with lines down that can be an entanglement hazard.
