This site is part of a complex of sites including McAbee Pinnacle and Hopkins Reef which are protected by the Lovers Point State Marine Reserve. They are characterized by dense kelp beds and interesting granite reef outcrops teeming with life. In addition to the drop off here, you can also explore the intake pipe that delivers fresh seawater in to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The kelp here is abundant among the rocks and the marine reserve has ensured that the area isn't too fished out. See what other people have observed in the Lovers Point Marine Reserve via iNaturalist.
Entry & Access
Download a map of this site to your phone from AvenzaMaps. Similar to Hopkins Reef, this location is almost exclusively dived by kayak or boat.
Skill Level & Hazards
This site is fairly protected and shallow making it great for beginners but since it is fairly popular among dive tours, a good float to ward off boat traffic is advisable.
